June 2022

The project entitled “Programme for Exchange of Best Practices in Social Responsibility” was successfully completed in June 2022. We would like to express our thanks for the financial support we received from the Fund for Bilateral Relations within the framework of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021. We would also like to thank staff at the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic for their assistance and cooperation with implementation of the project.

The e-book Modern Trends in Corporate, University and Municipal Social Responsibility: Examples of Good Practice from the Czech Republic and Norway” was published in June 2022, this being the result of joint efforts made by the Czech-Norwegian project team.

May – June 2022

Representatives of the Norwegian partner - prof. Atle Midttun and Ellen Heggelund from the BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo, Norway will be visiting the University of Pardubice at the end of May and beginning of June. They will be participating in a series of excursions, bilateral meetings, workshops, a seminar and a round table.

May 2022

A seminar entitled “Sustainability in the Context of New Economic and Social Challenges” (Part 1) will be taking place on 9 May 2022 in classroom HA-C2 at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice. The topics “Benefits of Socially Responsible Behaviour”, “The Context of Corporate Social Responsibility and Industry 4.0”, “Sustainable Services” and “Green Human Resources Management” will be presented and discussed there. We look forward to your participation.

The Czech-Norwegian team is preparing an e-book “Modern Trends in Corporate, University and Municipal Social Responsibility: Examples of Good Practice from the Czech Republic and Norway”.

February 2022

The article “Scope and Channels of Communication of Corporate Social Responsibility Activities in Czech Chemical Companies” by Jan Vávra, Atle Midttun a Oskar Bakeš was published in “Przemysl Chemiczny” journal in February 2022.

December 2021 – March 2022

A poster presentation documenting our project activities and the results of our work has been running since December 2021 and will run until March 2022. It can be viewed in the Department of Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry, Building G, 2nd – 4th floor.

October 2021

The first students entered the first year of the doctoral study programme “Economics and Management of Businesses with Process Manufacturing Operations” in October 2021. Among other things, they will examine corporate social responsibility in the Czech Republic and abroad. The topic of the dissertation by Jan Kopřiva is “Assessment of the level of CSR communication of businesses with process manufacturing operations”. The topic of the dissertation by Alexandra Záhorská is “The customer approach to CSR communication by business with process manufacturing operations”.

October 2021

The article “Customer Attitudes towards Communication of the Socially Responsible Activities of Sugar Factories” by Martina Jelínková and Liběna Tetřevová was published in “Listy cukrovarnické a řepařské” journal in October 2021.

Dr. Liběna Tetřevová presented, among other things, the project at the Regional Innovation Platform - Chemistry, organized by the Parádní kraj platform on 14 September 2021 at the Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice.

Dr. Kateřina Myslivcová from the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the University of Pardubice became a new member of the project team. She replaced David Vlček.

June and August 2021

Defence of diploma theses is currently underway by students in the 2nd year of the master’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical Industry Enterprises and bachelor’s theses by students in the 3rd year of the bachelor’s study programme Chemical and Process Engineering, in the field of study Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry Enterprises, which are, among other things, devoted to the topic of the “Corporate social responsibility”.

In May 2021, Dr. Marie Bednaříková and Dr. Jana Košťálová presented the contribution “Green Human Resource Management in Companies of Czech Chemical Industry” within the framework of the virtual conference “8th International Conference on Chemical Technology (ICCT 2021)”. This contribution was published in the conference proceeding.

The topics for bachelor’s and diploma theses have been announced for the academic year 2021/2022, these being, among other things, focused on the topic of the project which is currently underway. The issue of the social responsibility is one of the topics for diploma and bachelor’s theses resolved in the Department of Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry under the guidance of members of the project team.

Under the guidance of Dr. Lenka Branská, Aleš Frohlich, a student in the 2nd year of the follow-up master’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical Industry Enterprises, is working on a diploma thesis on the topic “Environmentally oriented packaging innovations“.

Under the guidance of Dr. Jan Vávra, Michaela Hemelíková, a student in the 2nd year of the follow-up master’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical Industry Enterprises, is working on a diploma thesis on the topic “Sustainable production in chemical industry”.

Under the guidance of Dr. Liběna Tetřevová, Jan Kopřiva, a student in the 2nd year of the follow-up master’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical Industry Enterprises, is working on a diploma thesis on the topic “CSR communication of chemical companies in Norway”.

Under the guidance of Dr. Simona Munzarová, Adam Benda, a student in the 3rd year of the bachelor’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry Enterprises, is working on a bachelor’s thesis on the topic Environmental management tools in business practice“.

Under the guidance of Dr. Simona Munzarová, Hoang Anh Pham, a student in the 3rd year of the bachelor’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry Enterprises, is working on a bachelor’s thesis on the topic “Waste to energy in the circular economy“.

Under the guidance of Dr. Zuzana Pecinová, Gabriela Hvězdová, a student in the 3rd year of the bachelor’s study programme Economy and Management of Chemical and Food Industry Enterprises, is working on a bachelor’s thesis on the topic Packaging in the context of a sustainable supply chain.

The article Communication of Socially-Responsible Activities by Higher Education Institutions by Liběna Tetřevová, Jan Vávra and Simona Munzarová was published in “Sustainability” journal in January 2021.

October 2020

From 15 to 23 October 2020, the final dissemination event for the institutional cooperation project EHP-CZ-ICP-1-002 took place at the Department of Economics and Management of the Chemical and Food Industry of the University of Pardubice. As part of this event, the project "Program for Exchange of Best Practices in Social Responsibility" was presented in the form of posters.

July 2020

On 29 July 2020, the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic – National Focal Point for the EEA and Norway Grants in the Czech Republic – approved the application for a grant from the Fund for Bilateral Relations (No. EHP-BFNU-OVNKM-3-134-01-2020) for implementation of the project “Programme for Exchange of Best Practices in Social Responsibility”.

Within the framework of this project, collaboration will be developed between the University of Pardubice and BI Norwegian Business School based in the Norwegian city of Oslo. Research will be performed into examples of good practice in social responsibility by enterprises, universities and municipalities.
