Prof. Němec completed his doctoral studies at the University of Pardubice in the field of Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Materials in the group of Prof. Frumar in 2002. Since 2006, he worked as Associate Professor at Faculty of Chemical Technology, University of Pardubice. He became full Professor in the field of Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Materials in 2015.

Scientific interests

  • Amorphous materials, inorganic glasses
  • Thin films
  • Optics, photonics

Prof. Němec works in the field of research of solid state materials. Currently, he deals mainly with the study of amorphous materials aiming amorphous thin films. In the frame of his research, he focuses on advanced thin films deposition techniques, for example pulsed laser deposition or radio-frequency magnetron sputtering.
