The faculty sees strengthening relations with secondary schools as an important goal, and in doing so, aims to create a space for mutual discussion on areas of common interest between the faculty and secondary schools, as well as their promotion. It also strives to nurture gifted students, improve the quality of guidance in choice of study and support the successful transition of students to tertiary education.
As a faculty, we participate in and organise many competitions and scientific events for students of secondary and grammar schools, with regular participation by students interested in chemistry and technical fields. By participating, these students establish a close relationship with our faculty, which often results in long-term mutual cooperation.
We also organise a number of educational outreach events for the general public, such as European Researchers’ Night, and University in Motion among others.
European Researchers’ Night in Pardubice is an event which brings scientific institutions to life, offering access to places you would not normally be able to visit.
The doors of scientific departments and institutes at the University of Pardubice will open on Friday, 26 September 2025. Here, all of the faculties at the University of Pardubice will take you on a journey through the world of science.
- This year’s theme for the event is Wealth.

Come and meet our researchers. They are sure to spark your passion for science.
Programme of European Researchers’ Night at the University of Pardubice
European Researchers’ Night at the University of Pardubice is part of a Europe-wide event, with participation by more than 40 universities, science centres, scientific departments and research institutions in the Czech Republic alone. On this one day, researchers usually open their workplaces in hundreds of locations throughout the course of the evening and night, allowing visitors to enjoy free guided tours, engaging educational lectures, workshops, experiments, science shows and even musical performances.
The aim of European Researcher’s Night is to challenge misconceptions about scientists and show the public that they do work which is beneficial to us all and that they are able to present it in an engaging manner. European Researchers’ Night was first launched in 2005 by the European Commission.
