Description:
Project deals with development of optimized technology for the realization of high quality microoptical elements in high refractive index chalcogenide thin layers for applications in the near infrared and visible spectral region. Technology will be developed on the base of systematic studies of ability thin chalcogenide layers to be structured either by direct laser writing method or by exposure with suitable radiation and consequent selective etching. Potentials and limitations of different chalcogenide systems and applied methods of their micro- and nanostructuring will be studied. This will open up perspectives for optimization and/or development for wide a variety of applications of CHG in different technical fields (IR diffractive optics, sensors, resonance filters, photonic crystals, counterfeiting elements etc.). Practical examples of optimized technology application for fabrication of functional microoptical elements will be given. From the basic research point of view this project will contribute to better understanding of phenomena within chalcogenide glasses induced by their interaction with different energy/intensity photons.
