Creation of the modern laboratory of instrumental organic analysis

Provider: Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy
Programme: FRVŠ - A a)
Implementation period: 01.01.12 - 31.12.12
Workplace: Fakulta chemicko-technologická - Katedra analytické chemie
Investigator: Ventura Karel
Team member: Česla Petr
Description:
The project is focused on the creation and equipment of the new laboratory, which will be used for teaching of modern instrumental methods for organic analysis in the bachelor and master degree of the studies. In the project, the purchase of the instruments as the replacement of old and less reliable ones as well as purchase of brand new instruments is planned. The innovative approach in the quality of teaching consists of all aspects of analytical work including sampling and preparation of the samples for the analysis. The grant funds will be used for purchasing of new analytical instruments (liquid chromatograph, electrophoretic analyzer and fluorescence detector) and instruments for sample handling (infrared decomposition system, automatic apparatus for Soxhlet extraction, analytical grinder, precise analytical scales, rotary vacuum evaporator and centrifuge). The purchase of UV box, scales and the rest of the supporting equipment will be funded by contribution of the university. The installation of the instruments will lead to the improvement of the laboratory equipment available for students of Department of Analytical Chemistry. Students will learn to work with modern instrumentation commonly available in commercial laboratories. The quality of practical training of instrumental analytical chemistry will be improved together with the competence of the students. As the result, the graduates will gain better starting point at the labor market.
