Description:
Concrete is currently used for structures subjected to various loading and exposure conditions which can cause different modes of failure and deterioration. The project covers following topics and is divided accordingly: Blast and impact loading loading causes mainly brittle shear failure of concrete elements. The failure is caused by impact, reflection a and propagation of shock wave and its rebound within the structural element. Fatigue is a process permanent progressive changes in the structure of a material exposed to cyclic loading. High stress ranges result into accelerated crack propagation, higher defections, structural stiness reduction and consequently into fatigue failure. The interaction of extreme loading with the deteriorating effect of cyclic loading has not been properly studied yet, but the structures subjected to blast or impact are mainly under service for certain amount of time. On hand of detailed experimental program, analytical tools for prediction of blast and impact performance, fatigue performance of concrete and their interaction will be provided.
