Description:
The presented project deals with preparation and characterisation of coloured mixed metal oxides. New functional inorganic powder materials based on complex oxides of pyrochlore and perovskite structures, phosphates of NASICON and tungstates of wolframite structures containing environmentally friendly elements will be obtained using ecological synthesis approaches. The new formulations will be characterised with regards to their phase composition and optical properties with particular attention to origin and physicochemical mechanism of their colouration. Additionally the powders will be characterised by analysis of granulometric composition, morphological properties, chemical, thermal and light stability. The main target of the project is to discover new non-toxic materials with interesting properties (colour, thermal stability, semi-conducting, anticorrosive, UV resistant, etc.) as well as broadening and systematisation of theoretical knowledge on the background of colour appearance in inorganic solids of different types and its interrelations with their structure and composition.
