Removal of polyfluorinated acids from contaminated materials using chemical degradation

Provider: Technologická agentura České republiky
Programme: ZÉTA - Program na podporu aplikovaného výzkumu
Implementation period: 01.04.19 - 31.03.21
Workplace: Fakulta chemicko-technologická - Katedra biologických a biochemických věd
Investigator: Šilha David
Description:
New efficient decontamination techniques will be studied for effective removal of fluorinated compounds (PFAS) from contaminated materials and apparatus suitable for application for this purpose will be constructed. For these purposes suitable analytical device (LCMS and/or GC-MS, etc.) will be applied for characterization and quantification of mentioned fluorinated compounds as contaminants (in water or soil, paper. polymers). New technology based on hydrodefluorination will be verified for degradation of PFAS using Ni based agents (Al-Ni alloy, etc.).
