New strategies for improving sensing properties of novel electrode materials via their surface pretreatment or modification

Provider: Grantová agentura ČR
Programme: Standardní projekty
Implementation period: 01.01.20 - 30.06.23
Workplace: Fakulta chemicko-technologická - Oddělení ochrany životního prostředí
Investigator: Šelešovská Renáta
Team member: Chýlková Jaromíra | Janíková Lenka | Korecká Lucie
Description:
New electrochemical sensors, biosensors, and detectors, applicable for the determination of biologically active compounds and monitoring their transformations (drugs, plant hormones, pesticides, biomarkers etc.) will be developed. Investigation of nontraditional materials (e.g., derived from boron doped diamond, amalgams, carbon and metallic nanostructured materials) will be focused on improving their sensing properties via their modification using metallic and carbon nanomaterials, chemical modification using organic molecules, biomolecules or polymers, and via electrochemical pretreatment. Screen-printed electrodes based on modified inks and 3D printed cells with integrated electrode systems and enabling hyphenation with other techniques (e.g. mass spectrometry) will be developed. Nontraditional electrode materials will be combined with biorecognition principles, nanostructured ?smart? surfaces, and with a preliminary separation/preconcentration using polymer membranes to increase their sensitivity and selectivity.
