Surface tension study in melts and undercooled melts of amorphous materials
Provider: Ministerstvo školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy
Programme: Interní rozvojová soutěž
Implementation period: 01.01.20 - 30.11.20
Workplace:
Fakulta chemicko-technologická - Katedra fyzikální chemie
Investigator: Barták Jaroslav
Description:
Student are learning about surface tension in different subjects of bachelor and master study programms. Till now, studenst had the oportunity to get acquainted with surface tension in liquids within the subjects of laboratiories and lessons of basics of physical chemistry. The proposed excersice will lead for better knowledge of surface tension in melts and undercooled melts of glass-forming materials. Students will learn different methods for surface tension measurement (analysis of droplet profile, behavior of a droplet on a surface of solid material, decay of surface structure embossed into a surface of solid material). Simultaneously, the students will get familiar with measurements of surface tension at different temperatures and with the modeling temperature dependence of surtace tension. This excercise will be excercised within the subjet of Laboratories of physical chemistry. In the same time, topics for bachelor and master theses will be prepared.
