Description:
In the area of environmental and chemical engineering the project is focused on the development and application methods and techniques for the pre-treatment and cleaning of the process and municipal wastewater using pressure driven membrane processes, electro-membrane processes, indirect electrochemical oxidation, chemical reduction, heterogeneous photocatalysis, adsorption, and various biological methods. The project is currently focused on the analytical methods to evaluation of types and concentrations of contaminants and on the methods of preparation and subsequent analysis of the samples as well as testing the behaviour of present species or solutions relating to the protection of human health, the environment, and material analysis. Research in the field of sustainable innovation management will focus on the implementation of the principles of Industry 4.0 in the chemical industry with emphasis on environmental impacts and research on barriers and opportunities for the implementation of the principles of sustainable production in the chemical industry. Furthermore, the possibilities to reduce the environmental impact of packaging used in the chemical industry (and the barriers to these possibilities), the application of project management principles in the management of sustainable innovations and research on modern procedures and ways of communicating socially responsible activities of chemical companies.
