We will investigate the field of cationic polyhedral (hetero)boranes and its use for development and detailed characterization of proton-boron targets. The subsequent investigation of the chemical properties of long time elusive cationic (hetero)boranes is of a high interest because widely studied cages of this class are neutral or anionic ? instable in aqueous media. Cationic polyhedral (hetero)boranes firstly described by us are stable and contain up to 22 boron atoms as possible targets.
