Description:
The project is aimed at the development of an ecological substitute for the composition SC-1. This compound had many uses, but in the field of rocket engine it is used as a booster component in a mechanical initiator. This composition contains zirconium powder and minium, as well as nitrocellulose varnish as a binder. It is the content of minium that is the main motivation for search for an ecological substitute. The goal of the research project is to find a pyrotechnic composition, without the content of heavy metals, which mainly has solid particles as reaction products. These solid particles combined with a small amount of gas are suitable for ignition of long solid propellant in rocket engines. The goal of the project would be a functional sample.
