eng The effect of lanthanides on colour properties of the (Bi2O3)0.7(Ln2O3)0.3 compounds In the present study, the new pigments having the formula (Bi2O3)0.7(Ln2O3)0.3 with various rare earth cations (Ln = Gd, Eu, Lu, Yb, Tm, and Ce) have been prepared. The pigments (Bi2O3)0.7(Ln2O3)0.3 were prepared by the solid state reaction. The starting mixtures containing both oxides (Bi2O3 and Ln2O3) were calcinated in porcelain crucibles in an electric resistance furnace at temperature 850 °C.
