eng Amorphous Ge40S60 -The Study of Viscous Flow and Structural Relaxation Chalcogenide glasses as Ge40S60 are very interesting materials because of their electrical and optical properties especially in the infrared range. These semiconductors are widely used as optical fibers and optical record media. Amorphous materials are not in equilibrium state below the glass transition temperature. Properties of these materials such as volume and anthalpy change in time toward their equilibrium. This process is called structural relaxation or physical ageing. The basic chemical and physical properties of chalcogenide glasses are studied but not so many authors studied structural relaxation of chalcogenide glasses athough this topic is connected with long-time using of amorphous materials. Another important property of the glass and glass -forming supercooled liquid is viscosity and its relation to the structural relaxation behaviour. xxxx
