eng	Terminal Falling Velocity of Spherical Particles in Shear Thinning Viscoelastic Fluids	In this contribution, new measurements are presented of the terminal velocities of the spherical particles falling in two-component shear thinning viscoelastic polymer solutions. The experimental data obtained are compared with the theoretical ones calculated for the fall in purely viscous fluids with viscosity functions following the four parameter Carreau flow model. An evident enhancement of the drag coefficient, which is undoubtedly caused by normal stress effects, has been observed for the polymer solutions tested.	free fall;spherical particle;viscoelastic fluids;drag coefficient
