eng The Base-Catalysed Cyclisation of Phenyl N-(2-Hydroxybenzyl)-N-methylcarbamates The rate law of the cyclisation of phenyl N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-N-methylcarbamates in aqueous solution was identified. The values of rate and equilibrium constants fit Brønsted equations against pK´s corresponding free phenols but system does not conform to the reactivity-selectivity hypothesis.
