Reakce probíhá s vyloučením vzdušné vlhkosti při 137oC za normálního tlaku. Ethylační činidlo a použitá rozpouštědla nejsou toxická, jsou recyklovatelná a biologicky dobře odbouratelná. eng	Ethylation of phenols using diethyl carbonate, solvent recycling and waste-water management	An environmentally more convenient reaction for the production of industrially important aryl ethyl ethers (ArOEts) is described in essentially quantitative yields by the reaction of phenols with diethyl carbonate in of N,N-dimethylacetamide. The reactions were carried out in the air under atmospheric pressure at 137°C. The ethylation agent and used solvents were non-toxic, recyclable and biologically degradable.
