Patří do skupiny vysoce ceněných organických pigmentů. DPP pigment a jeho deriváty byly syntetizovány z derivátů benzonitrilu (benzonitril, 4-chlorbenzonitril, 4-kyanobenzonitril) a diesterů kyseliny jantarové (dimethylester, diethylester, di-terc-butylester, di-terc-amylester kyseliny jantarové). Použité terciární estery byly syntetizovány reesterifikací difenylesteru kyseliny jantarové s terc-amylalkoholátem a lithiem katalyzovanou reesterifikací dimethylesteru kyseliny jantarové terc-amylalkoholem. Terciární estery byly dále připraveny rekcí dichloridu kyseliny jantarové s terciárním alkoholem (alkoholátem) a adicí isobutenu na kyselinu jantarovou. Syntéza DPP byla optimalizována (byl sledován vliv alkoholátu (lithný, draselný a sodný), vliv rozpouštědla (n-amylalkohol, terc-butylalkohol, terc-amylalkohol), vliv substituentu a vliv použitého esteru na výtěžek reakce. U připravených DPP byla změřena adsorpční spektra a byly pořízeny záznamy elektronového skanovacího mikroskopu.
eng	DPP pigments	DPP pigment (3,6-diphenyl-2,5-dihydro-pyrrolo-[3,4-c]-pyrrol-1,4-dion) is a new heterocyclic red pigment based on diketo-pyrrole chromophore. This pigment is a high performance organic pigment. DPP pigment and its derivatives were synthesized from benzonitrile derivatives (benzonitrile, 4-chlorobenzonitrile, 4-cyanobenzonitrile) and di-esters of succinic acid (dimethyl succinate, diethyl succinate, di-tert-butyl succinate, di-tert-amyl succinate). The applied tertiary esters were prepared by re-esterification either diphenyl succinate tert-amyl alcoholate or dimethyl succinate. The letter reaction was catalysed with lithium. The other esters were synthetized from succinyl chloride and tert-amyl alcohol (alcoholate) and/or by addition of isobutane to succinic acid. The synthesis of DPP was optimized. Many factors affecting the quality and yield of this reaction (kind of solvents, types of esters, alcoholates and benzonitrile derivatives) were studied. Absorption spectra and electron scanning microscopy were measured for prepared DPPs.
