V posledních letech dochází k významnému rozšíření sledovaných informací v oblasti životního prostředí a do popředí se dostávají nové problematiky. Nutnost sledovat nové parametry vyplývá z objevujících se problémů, které vedou, zejména v posledních letech k zásadním změnám přírodních a klimatických podmínek jak v globálním tak lokálním měřítku. Environmentální reporting nebo-li poskytování údajů o vlivu činnosti podniku na životní prostředí je jedním z dobrovolných nástrojů, kterým podnik informuje zainteresované strany o svém vztahu k životnímu prostředí. Úrovní environmentální komunikace v podnicích chemického průmyslu se zabýval výzkum provedený Univerzitou Pardubice počátkem roku 2008. eng Evaluation of Environmental Communication and Reporting in Relation to Sustainable Development in Businesses in the Chemical Industry The pressure of the general public and stakeholders on businesses in the area of provision of information on the environmental impact of the enterprise has increased in recent years and can be expected to strengthen even further. It is not clear whether enterprises are aware of this fact and are capable of adequately reacting to these requirements. The very nature of the main business activities of companies in the chemical industry should place them amongst the representatives of a responsible approach to the environment and should meet the standards and principles of sustainable development. They should also reveal these facts in a suitable manner. In order to evaluate the current level of environmental communication in businesses in the chemical industry, a study was performed at the University of Pardubice on the state of environmental communication through environmental reporting or some other form of written communication of businesses. environmental communication;sustainable development
