eng Deoxygenation of vegetable oils on NiMo-alumina catalysts The activity of NiMo-alumina catalysts in the deoxygenation of the vegetable oils was determined. There were two main effects, which appeared to be important with respect to the final activity of NiMo-alumina catalysts. It was the role of Ni distribution (octahedral (Oh) vs. tetrahedral (Td) Ni species) and the use of mesoporous alumina support instead of the commercial one. The catalysts were characterized by UV-Vis DRS (distribution of metal species), XRF (chemical composition), XRD (crystallinity), BET (specific surface area), SEM (morphology), SEM-EDX (homogeneity of the surface distribution of Ni and Mo species).
