eng Effect of elasticity on the pressure drop for cake filtration in viscoelastic polymer solution In this contribution, filtration equations for a cake filtration in viscoelastic non-Newtonian fluids are examined experimentally. The filtration equations are based on a capillary hybrid model for power law fluid flow containing a modified Deborah number correction functions for expression of the elastic pressure drop excess in the flow of viscoelastic filtrate through the filter cake and filter screen. Filtration experiments with suspensions of hardened polystyrene particles and diatomite in viscoelastic aqueous solutions of polyacrylamides Kerafloc were carried out at a constant pressure on a cylindrical filtration unit using filter screens of different resistance. viscoelastic filtration;filter screen resistance;filtration equation;elastic effects
