eng CELL SORTING IN A MICRO-FLUIDIC SYSTEM WITH MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES We present a new microfluidic device for cell sorting, based on a reversal of the current paradigm of magnetic sorting. In our system, we immobilize functionalized magnetic particles inside a microchannel in the form of vertical columns with a specific geometry, through which a cell flow is able to pass. A strong and regular array is achieved by a new strategy involving microcontact stamping of ferrofluid. We studied the motion of cells in the array, and demonstrated specific capture on two populations of T and B lymhocytes. cell sorting; T and B lymphocytes; microchip device
