eng Oxidation of Propane with Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen over Co- and Fe-zeolites Oxygen, nitrous oxide and their mixture were used in oxidation of propane over Co- and Fe-zeolites (containing trace concentrations of Fe) of beta and ZSM-5 structures. The highest conversion (15.8 %) with selectivity to propene (61.9 %) and the sum of selectivities to oxygenates (10.3 %, foremost propyl alcohol and propanal) was achieved with steamed Fe-MFI when a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen was used. With increasing concentration of molecular oxygen in the reaction mixture of propane and nitrous oxide, there was observed the synergetic effect of oxygen and nitrous oxide resulting in nearly threefold growth of propene yield. While only the specific Fe species exhibit extra-ordinary activity in hydroxylation of hydrocarbons, Co ions contribute only to oxidation of propane to propene and carbon oxides. propane, zeolites, oxidation
