cze Products of Hydrolysis and Alcoholysis of C,N-chelated Organotin(IV) Halides as Catalyst in Transesterification Reactions The chemistry of organotin(IV) oxides and/or hydroxides as well as the alcoholates and phenolates is well established. This class of compounds, mainly diorganotin(IV) or cationic species, found its use as a homogenous catalysts in various types of transesterification and transcarbamoylation processes. Another possible use of the organotin(IV) compounds is their employment as catalyst in the synthesis of linear carbonates from alcohols and carbon dioxide , in the presence of dehydrating reagents as well as in the production of polycarbonates via ring opening polymerisation of cyclic carbonates . We focussed our attention on use of organotin(IV) C,N-chelated compounds mainly oxides, hydroxides, alcoholates and phenolates in these processes.
