Závislost tlakové ztráty na objemovém průtoku byla měřena pro vodné roztoky glycerolu, Emkaroxu, maltósového sirupu (newtonské kapaliny) a roztoky polymerů vykazující nenewtonské chování (pseudoplastické a viskoelastické kapaliny s konstantní viskozitou). Pro přípravu nehybné vrstvy byly použity skleněné kuličky, keramické a plastické válečky a skleněné mnohostěny. Pro vlastní experimenty byly použity válcové kolony o průměru 10 a 20 mm. Kapaliny byly dopravovány do testovací kolony použitím tlakové nádoby. Tlaková ztráta byla měřena pomocí tlakového čidla (Cressto). Reologické vlastnosti modelových kapalin byly měřeny na rotačním reometru RS150, RS300, RS600 a reometru Haake CaBER 1. Bylo ověřeno, že nárůst tlakové ztráty lze vyjádřit pomocí funkce Debořina čísla Dee = tf,e.Dw/2 založené na efektivním charakteristickém času kapaliny tf,e. Byly navrženy postupy pro určení času tf,e a tvarů funkce f (Dee). The limitní hodnoty kinematické proměnné Dw, která odpovídá počátku nárůstu tlakové ztráty byla také vyhodnocena. eng Pressure Drop Excess in the Flow of Viscoelastic Fluids through Fixed Beds of Particles In the flow of viscoelastic polymeric fluids, pressure drop excess was observed due to fluid elasticity in comparison with that predicted for the flow of a purely viscous fluid at the same flow conditions. An unambiguous analysis explaining the reasons of the pressure drop excess has not been proposed yet and the sufficient knowledge for modelling purposes is not available as well. A qualitative explanation is based on the effects of viscoelastic fluid memory and normal stresses of an extensional flow seeing that a fluid element experiences the consecutive expansions and contractions as it traverses the pore space. At the same time, it is usually expected that the pressure drop excess can be evaluated using a Deborah number function. However, the present knowledge of the flow of viscoelastic fluids through fixed beds of particles is inconsistent and the choice of the suitable form of the Deborah number and the Deborah number correction function is an open problem. Particularly, there is a lack of experimental data on pressure drop measured in liquids of different chemical constitution. In this contribution, we present and analyse our new results of pressure drop measurements in the creeping flow of different viscoelastic polymer solutions through fixed beds of spherical and non-spherical particles. In our fixed bed experiments, the dependence of the pressure drop on the volume flow rate was measured in the flow of aqueous solutions of glycerol, polyalkylene glycol Emkarox HV 45, maltose syrup (Newtonian fluids), and different polymer solutions (shear-thinning and constant viscosity viscoelastic fluids) through fixed beds of spherical and non-spherical particles. Glass spheres, ceramic and plastic cylinders, and glass polyhedrons were used for preparing the beds.
