eng Explosive mixtures based on TATP: An Introduction to the relation between the thermal reactivity and the performance We used non-isothermal differential thermal analysis (DTA) under atmospheric air to determine the thermal stability and measurements in ballistic mortar for the performance of mixtures of triaceton triperoxide (TATP) with ammonium nitrate (AN) and water(W). The modified Kissinger method is used for evaluation of the corresponding DTA results. The slope E.R?1 of the Kissinger relationship is taken as a characteristic of the mixtures thermal reactivity. A relation seems to exist between the E.R?1 values and performance of the given mixtures. The TATP/AN mixtures, whose content of water is about 20 wt. %, can have a performance close to dynamites. This publication is a first step in the study of the properties of mixtures based on TATP-AN-W. The presented results made themselves an attractive worthwhile.
