eng Light Fastness Testing of Pigment Water-based Inkjet Inks Comprising Different Light Stabilizers This work deals with UV stabilization of pigmented water-based inkjet inks. The efficiency of UV stabilizers in various concentrations in ink was studied and compared. For synthesis of dispersants and copolymers comprising light stabilizers used for final ink preparation were used both radical and group transfer polymerization (GTP). Photodegradation of ink can be reduced by using light (UV) stabilizers. Two types of stabilizers were used. First one was UV absorber (UVA) based on benzotriazole group and second was free-radical scavenger known as hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) based on 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine group. Particle size distribution of pigment paste, thickness of ink layers and pH of water liquor of substrates were measured. Exposure by UV radiation was performed by medium pressure mercury vapor lamp and xenon arc lamp. The color difference ( ∆E) and optical density (D) were used for evaluating of color changes. The efficiency of UV stabilizers is different and is affected by many factors like stabilizer type and its concentration and substrates properties. Results of exposure by two different UV sources were compared. Light stabilizer, UV stabilization, UV absorber, HALS, inkjet
