eng Hybrid Photoinitiators for Printing Inks This work deals with free radical and cationic photoinitiators for printing inks with the aim of suggesting new hybrid photoinitiators (derivatives of commercial photoinitiators). These photoinitiators can start free radical and cationic polymerization of cationic and radical polymerizing monomers. Two hybrid photoinitiators were prepared from free radical photoinitiator 1-[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2- methylpropan-1-on and cationic photoinitiator [(η5-2,4- cyclopentadien-1-yl)(η6-chlorobenzene)]iron hexafluorophosphate. These newly created hybrid photoinitiators decompose after UV light exposure and can be effectively used as photoinitiators for radical and cationic polymerization reaction. The polymerization activity of prepared photoinitiators was measured by FTIR and by UV-VIS spectroscopy. Prepared photoinitiators were compared with the commercially available photoinitiators Irgacure 261 and Irgacure 2959 photoinitiators, radical polymerization, cationic polymerization, hybrid polymerization, FTIR, UV-VIS
