eng	Energetic materials – present state and trends in development of explosives	The aim of this short review is to draw attention to the basic aspects of a present state and trends in a development of the main kinds of explosives and energetic polymers. Some elementary terms from the area of theory of explosion are interpreted, too. Present state of education and research in the area of theory and technology of explosives on a territory of the former Czechoslovakia is mentioned.
