eng Comparison of Different Methods for Evaluation of Shape, Size and Particle Size Distribution of Selected Nanomaterials Different types of methods exist for evaluation of shape, size and particle size distribution of nanomaterials. In this work we studied silica nanoparticles and acrylate dispersions. Experiments proved that methods used to measure particle size distribution and based on the light scattering require very diluted dispersions. Methods working with concentrated suspensions, without a great dilution, are more suitable to get correct results for colloidal systems, for example acoustic spectrometry and X-ray disc centrifuge system. To obtain information about the shape of particles TEM and AFM methods were used. Results from acoustic spectrometry and X-ray disc centrifuge system agree with results from AFM and TEM.
