eng Multi-elemental analysis of milk by ICP-oa-TOF-MS using oxalic acid as matrix modifier The aim of this work was to develop a method for direct multi-elemental analysis of milk by inductively coupled plasma orthogonal acceleration time of flight mass spectrometry (ICP-od-TOF-MS). The high content of calcium makes it difficult to perform an accurate elemental analysis of milk due to polyatomic interferences originating from calcium adducts. In order to eliminate these interferences, we propose a novel approach, which includes using a matrix modificator, namely oxalic acid. Oxalic acid forms a calcium oxalate in the presence of calcium. Calcium then remains in the solution as a precipitate and does not enter the spectrometer. The verification of the accuracy of the proposed method was done by analysis of certified reference material BCR No. 150 - milk powder. ICP-TOF-MS; analysis of milk
