eng Organic push-pull chromophores with switchable properties Organic p-conjugated molecules are currently of high interest due to their prospective application in materials chemistry. They found wide use as active layers in OLEDs, PVCs, DSSCs, and data storage devices, semiconductors etc. Attachment of donors and acceptors to the p-conjugated system assures intramolecular charge-transfer from the donor to the acceptor and the molecule become polarized (push-pull system). Such arrangement results in very interesting linear and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. Moreover, optical nonlinearities of organic materials may easily be altered in different ways. The molecule constitutes a switch if such alternation is reversible with distinctive optical differences of both states. In 2010, we have reported the synthesis and further investigation of imidazole-derived push-pull systems with a systematically extended p-conjugated system (Scheme 1). Besides the many interesting properties of such molecules, we have also investigated their ph induced and photochromic properties. It was shown that heterocyclic push-pull chromophores based on imidazole featuring either N,N dimethylamino or double bond, possess switchable properties with distinctive differences in linear and nonlinear optical responses. p-konjugovan7 systém; chromofor; přepínač; nlo
