eng STAR-SHAPED CHARGE TRANSFER CHROMOPHORES Among all possible arrangement of a push-pull system, central-peripheral layout offers new possibilities in the design of such molecules. Centrifugal as well as centripetal systems (donors placed in the center and acceptors at the periphery of the molecule or vice versa) are considered to be complementary materials to traditional linear D-p-A or Y-shaped push-pull molecules. These organic materials show high nonlinearities, and, therefore, found broad applications in optoelectronic devices. Triphenylamine represents readily available and inexpensive precursor for a centrifugal system. It possesses central nitrogen donor and three phenyl rings as a part of the p-linker. The work presented focuses on the synthesis of tripodal triphenylamine-derived push-pull chromophores with short p-linkers and various peripheral all-cyano acceptor moieties as shown in Scheme 1. triphenylamin; chromofor; tripodální
