eng Synthesis and properties of push-pull chromophores with 1,4-phenylene or thiophene-2,5-diyl p-linkers The organic, readily polarizable push-pull systems are currently tremendously investigated due to their nonlinear optical properties and thus resulting application in modern optoelectronic devices. We report herein synthesis and properties of fifteen ferrocene-nitro push-pull systems featuring the ferrocene as a donor and nitro group as an acceptor moieties. The p-linkage has been formed by systematically extending p-conjugated path by 1,4-phenylene and/or thiophene-2,5-diyl subunits. Synthesized compounds have been full characterized by NMR and MS.
