eng Effect of Starting Reaction Compounds on Size and Shape of Nano-Sized Hydroxyapatite Particles Nanoparticles of hydroxyapatite are the main inorganic solid component of the hard tissues in bones. Bone consists mainly of nano-hydroxyapatite and collagen type I. Bioactive ceramics and glasses are attractive materials for bone replacements and bone engineering. Nanoparticles of hydroxyapatite were synthesized by wet chemical precipitation method. Influence of starting reaction compounds on shape and size was studied. Different reaction precursors of calcium (Ca(NO)2.4H2O, CaCl2) and phosphorus ((NH4)2HPO4, H3PO4) were used. Chemical structure was identified by X-ray diffractometry, FTIR and TGA. The particle size and morphology were analyzed by AFM and XDC. Hydroxyapatite;Nanoparticles;Wet Chemical Precipitation Method;Biomedical Applications;Bone Tissue Engineering
