cze Problematika recyklace měděného katalyzátoru z Ullmannovy reakce The main objective of this work is to study the applicability of efficient method of the copper recovery from spent Ullmann copper catalyst. Ullmann reaction consists in the condensation of two molecules of an aromatic halide in the presence of a copper powder, with the elimination of copper halides. Copper halides (mixture of CuX and CuX2) and is removed from the reaction mixture by filtration, as they can interfere with subsequent transformations for safety and environmental reasons. In the present study, a simple hydrometallurgical process using diluted hydrochloric acid leaching was described for the recovery of copper from obtained copper halides. Cu from the leach liquor was recovered as powdered copper by action of required amount of Fe powder. Ullmann reaction; biaryl synthesis; copper recycling; iron powder
