eng Polycyanophenyl-acceptor star shaped push-pull chromophores Triphenylamine core has turned out to be a successful structure motive in various compounds designed as a two photon acceptors (TPA) as well as in other substances applicable in photonics and/or (non)linear optics. All-cyano acceptors were successfully utilized in linear, X-shaped, V-shaped and T-shaped push-pull molecules.2-3 Di- and tricyanophenyl acceptors, however, have been very rarely used in such systems, perhaps due to lack of their commercial availability and challenging synthetic accessibility of their precursors. In this work we have developed a simple synthesis of di- and tricyanophenyl halides and linked them to suitable triphenylamine-based precursors using Suzuki-Miyaura, Sonogashira, Heck and Negishi cross-coupling reactions to afford start shaped push-pull chromophores (A-p-)3D.
