Bylo zjištěno, že průměrná aktivační energie pro většinu dusičnanových esterů jsou porovnatelné při konstantní rychlosti ohřevua (přibližně 145 kJ mol-1), což naznačuje, že jejich hlavní rozkladný mechanizmus by mohl být stejný. Na základě kritické teploty rozkladu je pořadí stabilit studovaných nitrátů MHN < XPN < TMPTN < SHN < NIBGT < ETN < PETN < DiPEHN. Zavedení funkčních skupin na terciární uhlík je ve prospěch zvýšení teplené stability z důvodu zvýšení symetrie a tuhosti rezultující molekuly. dusičné estery; tepelná stabilita; kritická teplota; reakční model, efekt kinetické kompenzace

It was found that the mean activation energies for most nitric esters are comparable at const. heating rate (around 145 kJ mol-1), indicating that their main decompn. pathways might be the same. Based on the crit. temp. of thermal decompn., the order of mol. stability for involved nitric esters is found to be MHN < XPN < TMPTN < SHN < NIBGT < ETN < PETN < DiPEHN.
