eng Magnesium, aluminium and zinc compounds containing hybrid amino-amide ligand Series of reactions of 2-[(N,N-dimethylamino)methyl]phenylamine (LNNH2) [1] or its substituted form, 2-[(N,N-dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl(trimethylsilyl)amine (LNN(SiMe3)H), with diorganomagnesium(II) and organomagnesium(II) halides, trimethylaluminium and dimethylaluminium chloride, methylaluminium dichloride and diethylzinc were performed. All products were characterized by the help of NMR spectroscopy. Only few examples of magnesium(II) and aluminium(III) amides structures have been described in the literature so far [2]. Some products of the above mentioned reactions were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction techniques. The molecular structure of the described compounds reveals a four-coordinated central metal atom (Mg(II) or Al(III)).
