eng Activation of 1,2-diones via Amidinato and Guanidinato Stannylene ? Potencial Polymerization Initiators The chemistry of complex and organometallic compounds of main group elements underwent rapid development in the past two decades. This development and obviously a bright future of that field are interconnected to the employment of a high number of new electronically and/or sterically stabilizing ligands. A higher electron density chelated compounds as for example amidinates and guanidinates1 are the modern members. Activation of small/larger molecules (mainly CO2, O2, ammonia, H2S, etc) with the help of coordination compounds of group 14 metals in lower oxidation state stabilized by the chelating ligands is one of the quest of nowadays coordination/organometallic chemistry. New class of tin(IV) diolato complexes prepared with the help of activation of 1,2-diones via tin(II) amidinato and guanidinato complexes (4+1 oxidative cycloaddition) were/are/will be tested in polymerization of various systems as initiators of these reactions and will be discussed in this paper.
