eng	Synthesis and characterization of butyl(2-azidoethyl)nitramine	The paper concerns butyl(2-azidoethyl)nitramine (BuAENA). The compound was prepared by the reaction of butyl(2-nitroxyethyl)nitramine (BuNENA) and sodium azide. The azidation was carried out using three different methods: (1) using a polar aprotic solvent, (2) with water in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst and (3) with water plus ultrasound. Analyses of the products were performed by elemental analysis, TLC, HPLC and FTIR.
