eng Role of methods and conditions of preparation of vanadium species supported on lamellar zeolite on catalytic behaviour Vanadium oxide is considered one of the most important compounds in metal oxide catalysis. It is used in a several variety of important industrial oxidation processes, like the oxidation of SO2 to SO3, selective oxidation of NOx and there is a strong interest in selective dehydrogenation (ODH) reactions of light alkanes to alkenes. Bulky vanadium pentoxide, is not good catalyst for selective oxiidation of alkanes due to low selectivity, but dispersion of the oxide on the quasi-inert matrix leads to formation of active vanadium species with tetraedral coordination. From this point of view, mesoporous silicas belong to the good candidate for support. Lamellar zeolites are another group of promising supports allowing the deposition of a large number of well-defined vanadium species, affording cationic sites for anchoring vanadium species and mesoporosity for fast mass transport. zeolite; catalyst; vanadium
