cze Vliv stupně agregace na přesnost předpovídání spotřeby ropných produktů Hierarchické předpovídání představuje přístup k tvorbě předpovědí, při kterém je zohledněna možnost slučování předvídaných položek do příbuzných skupin podle zvolených agregačních proměnných. Lze jej proto použít při tvorbě systému předpovědí na různých stupních agregace, tak aby byly vznikající předpovědi ve vzájemném časovém i věcném souladu. Při hierarchickém předpovídání jsou totiž konečné předpovědi tvořeny z předpovědí na nižším stupni agregace (bottom-up proces) nebo z předpovědí na vyšším stupni agregace (top-down proces). Znalost vlivu stupně agregace na přesnost vznikajících předpovědí je však nezbytnou podmínkou použití správného přístupu k hierarchickému předpovídání. Při předpovídání vývoje časových řad makroekonomických ukazatelů se jeví právě aplikace hierarchických přístupů jako výhodná, protože v těchto případech je vyžadována znalost předpovědí na různých stupních agregace (např. slučování podle zemí, regionů). V tomto článku jsou popsány principy hierarchického předpovídání a možnosti jejich využití při předpovídání vývoje časových řad u spotřeby základních ropných produktů v zemích EU v letech 1993-2010. Na základě analýzy těchto časových řad je dále provedeno srovnání přesnosti předpovědí vznikajících na různých stupních agregace a zhodnoceny dopady stupně agregace na přesnost předpovídání. Cílená literární rešerše odborné literatury a analýza časových řad spotřeby ropných produktů v zemích EU byly použity jako výzkumné metody. eng The Impact of Aggregation Level on the Forecasting Accuracy of Petroleum Consumption Hierarchical forecasting represents an approach to forecasting which takes account of the possibility of integration of foreseen items into related groups in accordance with chosen aggregation variables. Therefore, it is possible to use it in creation of a system of forecasts on different aggregation levels in the way the created forecasts are in mutual time and material harmony. The thing is that in hierarchical forecasting the final forecasts are created from forecasts on a lower level of aggregation (bottom-up process), or from forecasts on a higher level of aggregation (top-down process). However, the knowledge of the influence of the aggregation level on the accuracy of the arising forecasts is a necessary condition of using the right approach to hierarchical forecasting. This paper describes the principles of hierarchical forecasting and the possibilities of their utilization within forecasting development of time series in consumption of basic petroleum products in the EU countries in 1993-2010. On the basis of the time series analysis, the authors then deal with comparison of the accuracy of forecasts arising on different levels of aggregation and evaluate the impacts of the aggregation level on the forecasting accuracy.
