eng Insight into the Determination of Ascorbic Acid at Polyaniline Modified Carbon Paste Electrode Polyaniline (PANI) was synthesized by electropolymerization with the aid of potential cycling technique at a carbon paste electrode (CPE) from the 0.2 M aniline (monomer) solution in the presence of 1 M HCl. The PANI-CPE configuration was tested in the amperometric mode with respect to sensitivity towards ascorbic acid (AA). Firstly, the electropolymerization process was optimized finding that 5 potential cycles (n=5) formed the optimal PANI layer for further determination of AA. The operational potential for amperometric detection was investigated in a range of –0.1V to +0.6V vs. ref., concluding that the value of choice would be in the interval of Eop= 0–0.2V. Then, a linear response of ascorbic acid could be obtained in the concentration range from 100 to 1700 μM, which can be expressed by the respective linear regression data y = 8.863x + 0.078 and r2 = 0.998 Carbon paste electrode; Aniline; Electropolymerization / modification; ascorbic acid; amperometric detection.
