eng	Optimization of separation of oligosaccharides using capillary electrophoresis	Oligosaccharides play an important role in many cellular events as effective components of the information-carrier molecules in extra-cellular-signaling, recognition, trafficking, adhesion and proliferation phenomena [1]. Capillary electrophoresis is a power tool for analysis of oligosaccharides mixtures. One major limitation of the CE analysis of oligosaccharides is connected with detection because the oligosaccharides lack of chromophore groups. To overcome this problem, oligosaccharides are often labeled with UV active and/or fluorescent labels for increased sensitivity [2]. In this work, capillary electrophoresis was used for the characterization of oligosaccharides mixture. The aims of this work were to optimize the conditions of separation of oligosaccharides mixtures including derivatization of samples, properties of capillary (coated or non-coated, length of capillary), composition of background electrolyte and applied voltage. Anthranilic acid, 2-aminobenzoic acid, 2-aminopyridine and 7-aminonaphtalen-1,3-disulfonic acid were used as derivatization agents. Analyses were carried out in non-coated silica capillary, commercially prepared capillary coated with polyvinylalcohol and in capillary coated with polydimethylacrylamide which was prepared in laboratory. Results of separation were compared and the optimal conditions for the separation of oligosaccharides mixtures were selected with the aim of application in two-dimensional system with capillary liquid chromatography.
