eng Opening of boroxines by N,C,N-chelated antimony(III), bismuth(III) and tin(IV) compounds N,C,N-intramolecularly coordinated antimony(III) and bismuth(III) oxides (LMO)(2) [where M=Sb (1), Bi (2)] and tin(IV) carbonate LSnPh(CO3) (3) [L is an abbreviation for (2,6-Me2NCH2)(2)C6H3] were shown to open six-membered boroxine rings R3B3O3 (R=Me or OMe) giving heteroboroxine compounds LM[OB(R)](2)O [where M=Sb and R=Me (4) or OMe (5); M=Bi and R=Me (6)] and LSn(Ph)[OB(R)](2)O [where R=Me (7) or OMe (8)]. Studied compounds were characterized by the help of multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and in the case of 4 and 7 by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
