eng Selectivity investigations of the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethene over Ni-alumina catalysts The work is focused on the analysis of Ni-species present at as-prepared Ni-alumina catalysts that are leading to the active and selective species in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane under reaction conditions. Firstly, we identified Ni species present at as-prepared Ni-alumina catalysts by using UV-vis, H2-TPR and XRD measurements. Secondly, we prepared Ni-alumina catalysts with the different distribution of individual Ni-species (Ni-alumina catalysts prepared by impregnation of alumina using nickel nitrate and nickel acetate and Ni-alumina catalysts prepared by mechanical mixing of NiO and alumina). Finally, we analyzed the relationship between the activity of Ni-alumina catalysts, selectivity of ODH ethane to ethene over tested catalysts and the relative population of individual Ni-species present at as-prepared catalysts.
