eng Effect of Crystal Field Parameters of Cr3+ on Colour Hue of Li1+xCrxZr2-x(PO4)3 Solid Solutions In this contribution, a series of the NASICON’s representatives – solid solutions of Li1+xCrxZr2-x(PO4)3 and their chromatic characteristics are discussed. Special attention is paid to effect of crystal field parameters on the shift of the absorption bands in VIS reflectance spectra and the resulting colour hue of the samples. The colour of the samples is explained by means of crystal field theory. Accordingly, two observed adsorption bands in VIS range of electromagnetic irradiation are associated with the electronic transitions between different energy states of d-electrons of Cr3+, which are determined by surrounding crystal environment and crystal field strength of the chromium ions.
