eng Ca-Al mixed oxide as the heterogenous catalysts for biodiesel production The Ca-Al mixed oxides were prepared from hydrocalumite by temperature pretreatment. Hydrocalumite was prepared by co-precipitation method from solution of aluminum and calcium nitrates by NaOH. Hydrocalumite has layered structure, which was destroyed during temperature pre-treatment. The Ca-Al mixed oxide was formed at 650 °C. The catalyst was active in the transesterification with methanol. The conversion was 90 % after 2 hours. The stability of catalyst in the reaction components (methanol, esters, glycerol and oil) was also tested. It was found, that the catalyst was not stable in glycerol because of solubility CaO in the glycerol. The structure of prepared catalysts was confirmed by XRD.
